Graduation Requirements 2026 and Beyond

A total of twenty – five (25) units in grades nine (9) through twelve (12) will be required for high school graduation. Only one (1) of these units may be in physical education. A unit shall be defined as credit given for a course meeting the equivalent time in minutes of a regular school period (which meets daily for a full school year), i.e., a minimum of 275 minutes per week.

 

Smart Core

  • English: four (4) units
  • Social Studies: three (3) units

Civics - one half (1/2) unit, Economics/Personal Finance - one half (1/2) unit, World History, U.S. History

A CPR/Stop The Bleed training is required of all students in order to graduate.

  • Mathematics: four (4) units

Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and choice of advanced math course

  • Science: three (3) units

Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics

  • Financial Literacy: one half (1/2) unit
  • Physical Education: one half (1/2) unit (only 1 credit may apply toward graduation)
  • Health Education: one half (1/2) unit

All students will be required to pass the citizenship portion of the U.S. Naturalization Exam with a 60% proficiency to graduate high school.

  • Fine Arts: one half (1/2) unit
  • Oral Communication: one half (1/2) unit                                             
  • Digital Learning Course (1) unit (embedded in 9th grade English)                                                                
  • Career Focus: six (6) units
  • Computer Science (1)

Classification

  • 12th Grade – Senior:  Completed 18 Credits
  • 11th Grade – Junior:  Completed 12 Credits
  • 10th Grade – Sophomore:  Completed 6 Credits
