Dear community,

We’re excited to keep you informed and connected with all that’s happening at South Side School. Each week, we’ll share important updates, upcoming events, and reminders. Our goal is to keep you engaged in your child’s school experience and ensure you have the information you need to help them succeed.
Thank you for partnering with us in making this a wonderful school year!

Archery Sign-Ups Are Open!

Students can sign up to participate in the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program, sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Please complete one form per participant and return it to your child’s school office. Don’t miss this chance to join a fun and exciting team!

ACT Prep Class

We are excited to share a valuable academic opportunity. Mrs. Wilson will be chaperoning a group of students to the Arch Ford Co-op on Tuesday, December 2, for a special ACT Prep class. This workshop, led by Cantrell and Waller, is an excellent resource for students seeking to improve their ACT scores. Many of our students are taking the December ACT, and this class would be a fantastic final review before the exam. If your student is interested in attending, please have them speak directly to Mrs. Wilson to secure their spot.

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

To support families within our own school, we are once again organizing our annual food drive to pack Thanksgiving boxes for the holiday break.
If your family is in a position to contribute, your donations of non-perishable items would be deeply appreciated. We have organized suggestions by grade level to help us gather a wide variety of items.
All items must be sent to the school by Wednesday, November 19th.
Donation Suggestions by Grade Level
  • 7th Grade: Canned corn, canned soups, canned green beans, gravy mix
  • 8th Grade: Boxed mashed potatoes, canned pastas (e.g., Raviolis), stuffing mix
  • 9th Grade: Macaroni and cheese, bags of flavored rice mix, cranberry sauce
  • 10th Grade: Oatmeal packets, granola bars, pancake mix
  • 11th Grade: Plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly, syrup, Pop-Tarts
  • 12th Grade: Spaghetti noodles, plastic containers of spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, or cheese crackers
A Special Request: Turkeys Needed!
To complete these holiday boxes, we are also in need of 15 donated turkeys. Thank you for your incredible generosity. Your contributions make a direct and meaningful difference for families right here in our community.
