Community Letter
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
We are excited to welcome you to our extra-curricular school events and genuinely appreciate your continued support of our students and programs. To ensure the safety, security, and enjoyment of all attendees, we ask for your cooperation with the following expectations during events held in our District Facilities:
Student Supervision and Seating
Students must be seated during all events to ensure safety and security. We currently have a student section at basketball and volleyball games. Students are encouraged to cheer on all teams.
Congregating or loitering in the lobbies and hallways is not permitted. These areas must remain clear to ensure safety, accessibility, and efficient movement for all guests.
Building Security and Re-Entry
Once admitted, students may not leave the secured building and re-enter without paying admission again, unless accompanied by a parent (guardian).
This process helps us maintain a secure environment and accurately monitor who is inside the building at all times, which is essential for student safety.
Food and Drink/ Pets
To help keep our Fine Arts Building clean, well-maintained, and welcoming, no food or drinks are permitted inside the building during events.
In accordance with federal and state laws, access to school facilities is limited to fully trained service animals that perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. Emotional support animals, pets, and animals not under the handler’s direct control are prohibited.
District Code of Conduct
Parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to:
Demonstrate respectful and sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
Support students positively through encouragement, not criticism.
Respect the authority of teachers, coaches, officials, event staff, and administrators.
Follow all school, district, and facility rules, including safety procedures.
Address concerns or disagreements privately and through appropriate channels, not during events.
Model behavior that reflects our school values of respect, responsibility, and integrity.
We appreciate your understanding and partnership in ensuring a safe, secure, and positive experience for all students, families, and guests. Your cooperation allows our events to run smoothly and ensures that everyone can focus on celebrating our students’ talents and achievements.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Dr. Suzanne Lankford
South Side Bee Branch Superintendent
