We’re excited to keep you informed and connected with all that’s happening at South Side School. Each week, we’ll share important updates, upcoming events, and reminders. Our goal is to keep you engaged in your child’s school experience and ensure you have the information you need to help them succeed.

FCCLA Earth Day School Clean-Up

Celebrate Earth Day by helping us keep our campus beautiful! Our FCCLA chapter is hosting a school-wide clean-up event on April 22nd from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We invite all interested students to join us in making a positive impact on our local environment. If your student would like to participate and earn service hours, please have them see Mrs. Heston for more details and sign-up information. We look forward to seeing our students come together to care for our school community!

Virtual Arkansas: Concurrent Credit Registration

It is time to start planning for your student’s future college career! Registration for Virtual Arkansas Concurrent Credit courses officially opens on April 6 and will remain open through May 22. These courses offer a fantastic opportunity for students to earn college credit while still in high school, with options such as Public Speaking, College Algebra, and Experiencing Art. If your student is interested in getting a head start on their degree, please have them visit Mrs. Wilson to discuss qualifications and pick up the required paperwork.

Join Us for the SSBB Summer Educational Camp!

South Side Bee Branch Elementary is excited to offer a two-week Summer Educational Camp focused on reinforcing and extending literacy and math skills for students currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM during the weeks of June 1st–4th and June 8th–11th. We are pleased to provide both breakfast and lunch for attendees, and transportation services are available upon request. To secure your child’s spot, please register as soon as possible via the ParentSquare Form. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Driver at sdriver@southsidebb.org.

Gear Up for Game Day: Sports Physicals are Here!

It’s time to get our athletes ready for the upcoming season! Sports physicals will be held on April 22, but please keep in mind that all necessary paperwork must be submitted in advance. You can pick up the required physical packets in the main office starting today. To ensure your student is eligible to participate, please return the completed packet to the office no later than April 13.
